Dianne Lee Marks, nee Carlton, of Olmsted Falls, Ohio, passed away at Marion General Hospital on January 19, 2022 at the age of 76.
Dianne was born on February 26, 1945 at Fairview General Hospital to Norman and Mildred Carlton, both of whom are deceased. She married Glenn E. Marks on February 12, 1966, in North Olmsted, Ohio.
Dianne is survived by her daughters: Kellie L. (Eric) Anderson of Upper Sandusky and Kimberly J. Marks of Sidney. Two grandchildren include Victor Anderson of Cleveland and Andreah (Jon) Berndsen of North Olmsted.
Dianne is also survived by her brothers, Dennis (Georgene) Carlton of Avon Lake, Chet (Laura) Carlton of Leominster, Mass., and a host of nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn E. Marks, whom she is now reunited with. She is also preceded in death by a brother, Walter Carlton and her parents, listed above.
She was a 1963 graduate of North Olmsted High School and was a participant in many clubs during her school years.
Dianne was a member of the North Olmsted Evangelical Friends Church in North Olmsted.
Dianne held many roles over the years which included homemaker and cosmetologist and she was often asked to give the ladies in the church their perms.
She was talented in so many ways but her true gifting was her green thumb. She was a master with flowers and plants, living and faux. Her most favored job was with IPS, Interior Plant Specialists, where she traveled and decorated malls and hotels. She could make anything into a beautiful arrangement.
She was so very proud to tell you that her daughters were both in ministry, one being a Children's Pastor and the other a Pastors wife.
Dianne was a vital part of a Recovery ministry in her early years and found fulfillment in feeling like she was helping others.
She loved being with people and holidays were never complete unless her table was filled with not just family but anyone who had no place to go. She loved traveling and her happy place was the beach or anywhere with water and plants. Dianne loved working in her yard when she was able, being a part of Ladies Ministries and teaching caravan at her church, and being with her friends. Her favorite music was anything her daughters or son in law sang and her beloved Guy Penrod or the Gaithers.
Funeral services for Dianne Marks will be held at 12:00 pm Monday, January 24, 2022 at the North Olmsted Friends Church located at 5665 Great Northern Blvd, with Rev. Eric R. Anderson officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
