Dolores Helen Thomas' Obituary
Dolores Helen Thomas, 94, of Rocky River, Ohio passed away peacefully on June 1, 2023. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on December 7, 1928, to the late Cyril and Helen Acklin. Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Frank John Thomas; and her brother, Donald Acklin.
Dolores will be deeply missed by her daughter, Gail (Freddie) Maher; loving grandmother of Christopher Redding and Wesley Redding; step-grandmother of Kelly Donahue and Fred Maher; dear sister of Robert (Kathy) Acklin; dear aunt of Erin Acklin.
Dolores worked for World Publishing, the iconic Cleveland Press newspaper, and Key Bank. She loved spending time with her grandchildren from the day they were born. She was dedicated to family and made sure everyone was taken care of. She really enjoyed spending time with her grand dogs, Molly and Rocky. They were always looking for a belly rub from Gramma. One of her biggest loves was traveling to warm beaches and fun, relaxing places a couple times a year. She touched many lives, family and friends. She led a long life and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, June 11, 2023, at Sunset Funeral Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 at 2-6 pm. A Celebration of Life funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, June 12, 2023, also at Sunset Chapel. The family welcomes you to join them for a reception in Dolores’s honor immediately following interment.
