Donald Joseph Bernard's Obituary
Donald J. Bernard, 76, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away on January 4, 2023. He was born in Rumford, Maine, to the late Roland J. and Theresa M. (nee Fourner) Bernard, on November 2, 1946. He is survived by his sons Michael Decatur and Jerry Bernard as well as granddaughter Gabrielle Sardenelli. He is the brother of Gloria Dooley and Roger Bernard. Don worked in education as a teacher and taught in the Cleveland Municipal School District for many years. He served proudly in the Navy from 1968 to 1973. He was an avid musician and spent time helping the young with the California Youth Authority. Family asks that donations be made in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at www.stjude.org. Visitation will take place Friday, January 20, 2023, 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio, 44070, at 12:45 PM.
