Donald W. Berwald, 87, of Olmsted Township, passed away May 26, 2019.
Beloved husband of Darlene (Kenney); loving father of Lynne (Frederick) Heiman, Laurie (Dennis) Flynn, Lisa (John) Swansinger; step father of Jeffrey (Linda) Hawver, Leigh (Joe Kunstek) Smith, and Melanie (William) Deininger; dearest grandfather of Brianne (Brian), Sean (Leslie), Brittany, Aza, Harper, Seneca, and Spencer; cherished great grandfather of 7; brother of Walter (Francis) Berwald; and his loving extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Barbara (Regula) Gilitzki; and his sister Sally Reinker.
Donald enjoyed golf and was a member of Medina Country Club. He was a member and past president of Parma Rotary. Donald retired from the Cleveland Press after many years of service. He cherished spending time with his beloved family and friends.
Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, May 31, 2019 from 1-2 P.M. at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, where his memorial service will immediately follow at 2 P.M. A committal service will follow at Pinewood Garden Mausoleum at Sunset Memorial Park.
