Donald "Joe" Steven Paxton Sr.'s Obituary
Donald “Joe” Steven Paxton, 62, of Columbia Station, Ohio, passed away on February 11, 2026. Born on October 11, 1963, he was the son of the late Sandra Kleis and Charles Paxton.
Don was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, and uncle. He is survived by his son, Donald Paxton Jr.; his beloved granddaughter, Ella Paxton; his niece Courtney, and his nephew, Joe. His family was the center of his world, and he carried deep pride and affection for each of them.
A hardworking man, Don spent many years with Cargill Salt-mine, where he was known for his steady presence and strong work ethic. Outside of work, he found joy in life’s simple pleasures. He loved spending time with his dog, Tank, who was never far from his side. Don could often be found sitting in his garage, taking in the weather, the quiet, and the world around him—content in those peaceful moments that meant so much to him.
Don will be remembered for his easygoing nature, his loyalty, and the quiet comfort he brought to those who knew him. His memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he leaves behind.
Visitation will be held at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 on Wednesday, February 18, 2026 from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. with burial to follow at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio (Section 47, Lot 115, Space 2).
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Don’s honor to Tunnel to Towers Foundation, https://t2t.org/
