Donald E. Wilson's Obituary
Donald ‘Don’ E. Wilson, 82, of Brook Park, passed away on Saturday, November 21, 2020. Born in Portage, PA to the late Richard ‘Laddie’ and Mary Wilson on April 12, 1938. Besides his parents, Don is preceded in death by four siblings Evelyn (Maurice ‘Slim’) Kring, Betty (Jim) Johnson, Dee (Fred) Schellhammer, and Tom (Jean) Wilson.
Don is survived by his wife of 60 blessed years, LaRue Wilson; two beautiful daughters Constance (John) Van Kuren and Karyn (Jack) Murphy; dear grandchildren Meridyth (Thomas) Boone, Michael (Janice) Metroka, Jourdan (Jake) Manning, Alyson West (Will Sedgmer), and Jack Van Kuren; 7 precious great-grandchildren Jace, Raylynn, Charlotte, Corbyn, Jolee, Makenna, and Briar Rose; many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Don graduated from Portage High School in 1956, moved to Ohio in 1960 and started working for Fisher Foods for 20 years. Shortly after, Don started his own home improvements business that he operated for over 30 successful years before retiring. He enjoyed fishing, playing cornhole, camping with family at Holiday Camplands for 35 years, and spending time with his family as much as possible. He was a member of the Christ United Methodist Church and sang in the choir for 57 years and played in the hand bell choir.
In the days to come, Don will be dearly missed by all.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020 from 2pm to 4pm and then 6pm to 8pm at the Sunset Chapel located 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. Private services will be held for Don at Sunset Memorial Park.
