Dorothy Mae Anderson's Obituary
Dorothy Mae Anderson, 98, of Cleveland, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home on November 6, 2025.
She was born on September 21, 1927, in Cleveland, Ohio, to the late Gertrude and John B. Anderson II. Dorothy dedicated 30 years of her life working as a secretary for the U.S. Navy. After retiring, she cared for her mother, a role she took on with love and commitment.
Dorothy is survived by her sister Muriel Anderson; her niece Cynthia (Darryl) Archer and nephews David Anderson and John (Cynthia) Guzowski; her great-niece Hannah (Ben) Ahrens and great-nephew John Brian (Daryn)Archer; and her great-great nieces and nephews Elyssia Lozada, Olivia Ahrens, Otto Archer, and Jesse Archer. She was preceded in death by her sister Shelia Guzowski, her brother John B. Anderson III, and her nephew Mark Guzowski.
Dorothy was an avid reader and enjoyed time spent at the family cottage on the St. Lawrence River, especially swimming and relaxing with loved ones. She shared a close and lasting bond with her sister Muriel, a relationship that brought both of them great joy throughout their lives.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that you donate to the Shriners Children's Hospital.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. in the chapel.
