Dorothy Louise Kenney's Obituary
With profound sadness and love, we announce the passing of Dorothy Louise Kenney (Sarr), who went home to be with the Lord on February 24, 2025 at the age of 78. Dorothy leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and unwavering devotion to her family.
She was born on February 3, 1947, in Cleveland, Ohio to Paul and Dorothy Sarr (Browning). She was the third of four daughters and grew up on the west side of Cleveland.
Dorothy met the love of her life, Paul Kenney, at the age of 16. From that moment, their love unfolded into a beautiful journey spanning a lifetime together, including 56 years of marriage. They built a home and family rooted in love and faith while raising three children who were the light of her life.
Her pride and joy were her seven grandchildren (Lisa (Eric), Tyler, Jordan, Jared, Morgan, Jaidyn, and Amelia), each of whom she cherished beyond words. Whether offering warm embraces, life advice, or simply a listening ear, she made every moment special. Her love was felt in the care she provided, her constant prayers, and the support she gave to each of them.
Her faith was the foundation of her life, and she found peace and purpose as a life-long Lutheran and member of St. Luke’s and Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Cleveland. She loved watching tennis, some Cleveland sports teams (not the Browns), her many pets over the years (dogs, birds, ducks, and cats) and especially her most recent pet and dearly loved cat, Pumpkin Boy.
Though our hearts ache at her absence, we find comfort in knowing she is reunited with loved ones in heaven, embraced by the eternal love she so deeply believed in. Her legacy of faith, love, and family will continue to live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
She was predeceased by her Husband, Father, Mother, and sister (Beverly Priola). She is survived by sons Daniel (Linda) and Nathan (Jennifer), daughter Noreen Reed (Joe), sisters Paula Mezera and Kim Schmidt. Dorothy was loved and adored by her seven grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, March 3, 2025, from 5-8:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Her service will follow on Tuesday, March 4, 2025, at 10:00 AM at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4260 Rocky River Drive, Cleveland, Ohio 44135 with interment to directly follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
