Dorothy Jane Meyers' Obituary
Dorothy Jane (Wade) Meyers, 87, of Stow, Ohio passed away peacefully on July 14, 2023. She is preceded in death by the love of her life, James Bruce Meyers, with whom she was blessed to share 64 years of marriage. Her unconditional care and love for him was immeasurable.
She was born on June 16, 1936, to the late Harold and Marie Wade. She will be deeply missed by her four daughters Linda Hobson, Sandy (Bill) Currier, Chris (Jim) MacMillan and Jackie (DJ) Barnes. As well as her cherished nine grandchildren Josh Hobson (deceased), James (Ashley) Hobson, Grant Currier, Megan (Garrett) Brown, Carli (Christian) Alch, John (Cody McIntyre) MacMillan, Heidi (Daniel) Richards, Joey and Alyssa Barnes. Her precious eleven great-grandchildren were so much joy for her to be with, including Joshua, Henry and Sophia Hobson, Audrey, Margo and Marshall Brown, Wade, Will and Ford Alch, and Dean and Gavin Richards. She is also preceded in death by her only sibling Robert (Dolly) Wade. She was a treasured aunt to many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy graduated from John Adams high school in 1954. She began her career with Olsten Temporary Services in the 1970’s where she worked for 25+ years. She loved her Olsten family and had a wonderful career. She loved her friends and her family and had a strong faith in God. She prayed often and loved reading her devotionals. She had a very kind and gentle spirit and made each person she met feel special. She will be remembered for her beauty, joy, grace, iron will, and her strong devotion to her family. Her family has asked in lieu of flowers, a donation be made to Traditions Health at 207 Portage Trail, Ext. West, Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio 44223.
Her memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at 1:30 pm at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 with a dessert reception to follow. The family is asking attendees of the service to wear bright, casual, comfortable clothing to honor her joy of life. A special and sincere thank you goes out to all the wonderful caregivers at the Danbury Senior Living Hudson and Traditions Health Hospice. You created a very comfortable and secure environment. Dorothy and her family felt your love and care during these past few months.
