Dorothy Pikula's Obituary
Dorothy Pikula (nee Bauer), age 95, passed away on December 8, 2023, with her children by her side. Beloved wife of the late Jerry Pikula for 53 yrs., loving mother to Dan Pikula (Pat) and Diane Stricklan (Mike), dear grandmother to Jason (Suzanne) and Gary. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Born in Cleveland to the late Lad and Blanche Bauer, she was proud of her Czech heritage. In recent years, she enjoyed reminiscing about the ‘good old days’ growing up in Cleveland.
She was devoted to her family and actively supported her kids’ school, scouting, and church activities. She always made holidays (especially Christmas) and birthdays extra special. She was also an excellent cook and baker, making sure no one left her home hungry.
Over the years she worked for several different companies in administrative, sales, and office management positions. But family came first. She retired to take care of her mother when she was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.
While Cleveland will always be considered home, she also lived in Newark, Ohio and more recently, Largo, Florida (to be close to her daughter, who took care of her in her final years).
A service for family and friends will be held Monday, December 18, 2023 at 12:00 noon at Sunset Memorial Park's Westwood Abbey Mausoleum (6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070). She will be laid to rest with her husband in the Westwood Abbey Mausoleum.
