Dorothy R. Stang's Obituary
Dorothy Ruth Stang, 84, of North Olmsted, passed away peacefully on Monday, October 5, 2020. Born in Cleveland to the late Hermann and Elsie (nee Trapp) Laiple on October 9, 1935. Dorothy is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Edward Stang; her children Steven (Faith) Stang and Sherrie (Daniel) Marion; grandchildren Jessica (David), Megan (Nicholas), and Matthew; dear great-granddaughter Evelyn; sister Virginia (the late Walter) Lazarowicz; and many other loving family and friends.
Dorothy graduated from West Tech High School of Cleveland and started working. Dorothy worked for Central National Bank for several years and later helped her husband with his own tailoring and dry-cleaning business. Dorothy and Edward were members of the Cleveland Baptist Church and had been attending services and teaching Sunday school since 1977. Dorothy had a sharp mind and would often be found reading everything she could get her hands on from cover to cover and was very good with mathematics. In her spare time, Dorothy also enjoyed gardening and spending time with her children and grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at the Sunset Chapel located 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted 44070 on Thursday, October 8, 2020 from 4pm until 8pm. Funeral services will take place the next day at 12 noon also in the Sunset Chapel. Dorothy will be laid to rest at Sunset Memorial park following those services.
