Douglas Bruce's Obituary
Douglas R. Bruce, age 74 of Parma Hts., passed away September 6, 2019. He was born on January 7, 1945. He was the beloved son of the late Thomas D. and Helen (nee Adams) Bruce, the dear brother of Gordon (Cornelia), Dean (Marcia), Barbara (John) Roger and the loving uncle of Ben (Val), Nathan (Lillie), Sarah (Jon), Patrick (Julia), Thomas, Neil and great uncle of Alexis, Jenna, Gabe, Naomi, Hunter and Sawyer.
Doug amazed his family and friends with his curious mind and creative talents. At Lakewood High, he excelled at track and performed in the drama club. He continued acting in local little theater and played Santa at Christmas. After starting as a grill cook, Doug honed his cooking skills to become head chef at several respected restaurants in Lakewood, Ohio. He loved his motorcycles and vintage cars and was also a fan of folk musicians like Bob Dylan. His cats Magic and Minnie were his cherished companions. Even as his health and strength were fading, Doug never lost his joy at seeing family and friends, or his entertaining sense of humor.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, November 25, 2019 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted. Inurnment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
