Douglas Michael Rose's Obituary
Douglas “Doug” Michael Rose, age 72, passed away peacefully on September 15, 2021. He was born July 23, 1949 in Bowling Green, Ohio to the late John and Patricia (Young) Rose; also preceded in death by his brother Acram Al Warde. Doug is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Susan (Mackin) Rose; his son Geoffrey Rose and beloved granddaughter Amelia Rose. He was a graduate of Rocky River High School, class of ’67, earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Ohio University in 1971, and then after 2 years of service as a military policeman in the U.S. Army, returned to Ohio University to complete his MBA. He formed many lasting friendships and great memories with his brothers at Phi Kappa Sigma. Throughout his career in business, he worked for several companies, before ultimately running his own company. Doug was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church and was an avid golfer.
Visitation will be held at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, on Tuesday, September 21, 2021 from 12PM-1PM with funeral services at 1:00. Burial with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
A Celebration of Life will be held Friday, September 24th at 2pm at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 4456 Morse Rd., Columbus where friends will receive friends one hour prior. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Military Veteran’s Research Center, 4889 Sinclair Rd. #104, Columbus, OH 43229.
