Earl M. Mortensen's Obituary
Earl M. Mortensen, age 86 of North Olmsted, passed away December 23, 2019. Beloved husband of Sharlene (nee Wilcox); loving father of Eric (Lisa), Brian (Mary Ann), Russell (Jennifer, deceased) and Mark (Molly); cherished grandfather of Alex, Ben, Evan, Elden, Zach, Bryce, Chelsea, Caleb, Bella and Emily.
Earl retired as an Associate Professor of Chemistry from Cleveland State University. He had a love for nature, especially hiking, photography and visiting national parks. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts. He was a former Bishop of his church in both Amherst, MA and North Olmsted.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, December 29, 2019 from 4-7 PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 25000 Westwood Rd. Westlake. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
