Earl and Gerry Radke lived across the street from where I grew up. Earl was always friendly, funny, and easy to approach. He had the most organized garage I ever seen as kid. Gerry had the greatest laugh, she made the room light up. When I fondly remember Earl, race cars, Chevrolet, Dragway 42 always come to mind.
Several years after moving away I stopped for a visit at Earl's. Gerry let out a squeal when she seen me through the door. She called Earl and then they both proudly showed me the bar they had built downstairs in the full basement. We laughed and talked for hours, Earl being the bartender and Gerry and I were the patrons. It is a wonderful memory. I will never forget. We were lucky to have grown up in a neighborhood that had the Radke family as part of it.
