Edgardo V. Santiago M.D.'s Obituary
Edgardo V. Santiago, M.D., 87, of Rocky River, was ushered into the presence of his heavenly father on February 4, 2026. He was born on February 10, 1938 in Manila, Philippines, to the late Eduardo and Cleotilde Santiago. He was lovingly known as “Eddie,” to all who had the blessing of knowing him.
Eddie was the beloved husband of 25 years to Lucy (nee Mervar) Santiago. He was the cherished father of Mitchell (Copani) Santiago and Rini (David) Grover; and stepfather to Mick (Vickie) Dwyer, Bridget (Todd) Baumgartner, Timothy (Moninya) Dwyer, and Danny Dwyer. He was the adored grandfather of 13 wonderful grandchildren: Lucas, Martha, Griffin, Tatum, Ethan, Sara, Lachlan, Lily, Madeleine, Isabelle, Charlie, Christian, and Grace.
Eddie was preceded in death by his siblings, Virgilio, Reynaldo, Cleotilde and first wife, Martha Ann.
He was known for his tender heart, which shone brightly throughout his long, established career as a physician. Eddie cared deeply for his patients and always sought to help others in any way he could. Eddie’s dedication, compassion, humor, and gentle nature left a lasting impact on everyone he served. He touched the lives of countless people in Guatemala while serving as a physician on medical mission trips. These trips became his passion for many years.
A man of unwavering faith, Ed, was a member of Providence Church for years. He loved the Lord deeply and lived his life as a reflection of his faith in Jesus Christ. His family brought him immeasurable joy. He treasured time spent with them and held each one close to his heart.

A memorial service and celebration of his life will be held Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 3:00pm at Providence Church, 35295 Detroit Road, Avon, OH. Friends may arrive as early as 1:00 PM to greet the family and are encouraged to continue to do so after the service. There will be a private inurnment in the future.
