Edith Bunevich's Obituary
Sadly, on Tuesday, November 17, 2020, Edith Bunevich crossed Heaven’s threshold joining her husband, Stevan, and our family and friends who preceded her.
Edith is survived by sons Roy (Eileen) Bunevich and Bruce (Jodi) Bunevich and their families, as well as brother-in law and sister-in-laws, nieces, nephews, and their families. Molly and Sadie will really miss Grandma’s treats.
Edith and Stevan were lovingly married over fifty years. They met while he was a young WWII soldier, and she worked at the Cleveland Rationing Board, winning him over with her charm and a few extra gas ration coupons.
Edith worked hard throughout her life, building a strong, loving family while often working outside her home. Over the past couple of years, she began to share history of her youth and her marriage. As a young women, she aspired to be a nurse. She quickly abandoned her career choice after she fainted when seeing an injured patient. Little did she know that she was always nursing us, from a scraped knee or a broken heart. Those close to her know many of those great stories. And, though Edith guarded her mischievous side, some occasions became “family famous!”
Edith loved watching her family grow. She was gentle, but firm, as she guided her family through Life, encouraging Roy’s sports achievements, and Bruce’s interest in cars, motorcycles, and airplanes.
Edith treasured becoming a grandmother and great grandmother. She always had pictures and family stories to share.
“Do it now before you get too old”. Edith inspired us to enjoy life to the fullest. She did.
Memorial service will take place on Wednesday, November 25, 2020 at 12 Noon in the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070. Inurnment immediately following In Sunset Memorial Park.
Edith requested family and friends give memorial contributions to a charity or someone you love that is in need of a brighter day.
