Edward Raymond Farrell's Obituary
Edward Raymond Farrell, 98, of Parma, went to be with his Lord and Savior on August 18, 2018.
Edward was born on December 19, 1919 in Cleveland, Ohio to the late Mathew and Elizabeth Farrell (nee Kemmeter). Edward is survived by his loving children, Jean Wagner, Linda (Terry) Harrold, Cynthia Farrell Hull and Barbara Farrell. He also leaves behind nine grandchildren, twelve great grandchildren and sister-in-law Jeanne Lipton. He is preceded in death by the love of his life, Lois Farrell (nee Garling), his son, Jeffrey Farrell, brother Leroy Farrell and his parents.
Edward served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He served overseas in the Philippine Islands and on the islands of Leyte and Samar with the Pacific Seventh Fleet. He earned the Asiatic medal, American Defense Medal, Philippine Liberation Medal and the Victory Medal. Edward began as a sheet metal apprentice and graduated to journeyman. He was a trustee for Local 65 for ten years. In 1964 he became a Business Agent and held that position for 18 years. In 1982 he became Business Manager Financial Secretary and Treasurer for Sheet Metal Local 65. He served in that capacity for three years and retired in 1984. Edward was recognized for 70 years of dedicated service to the Sheet Metal Union and 75 years with the Free and Accepted Masons of Ohio. An avid Cleveland Browns, Indians, Ohio State, and Cavaliers fan, Edward rarely missed a game. He thoroughly loved get-togethers with his family. Edward will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Visitation is 12-2 p.m., Friday, August 24, 2018, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where Masonic services will take place at 1 p.m., and funeral services at 2 p.m. Private interment at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
