Edward K Parker's Obituary
Edward Kennith Parker, 91, of Wilmington, North Carolina passed away at home surrounded by family on June 19, 2021. He was born on March 12, 1930 in Beckley, West Virginia to the late Lettie Maye Gravely (Edward Cox Parker). Edward proudly served his country in the United States Airforce. He will be fondly remembered as a kind and generous man who was always prepared to lend a helping hand. His career as a Mechanical Engineer/Consultant gave him the opportunity to travel to other countries, but he always loved his the most. He continued to use his education and experience to help others well past retirement. An avid golfer and fixer of broken things, his love of and provision for his wife and family were paramount to him. Husband of the late Luella Maxine Parker (Ward); loving father of Katie & (KC) McCay and Suzy & (Tim) Fowler; treasured grandfather of Clint &(Angela) McCay, Colt & (Ashlei) McCay, (Todd) & Cori Wade, (Charles) & Calah Parker, the late Nathaniel Krafcik, Nick Fowler, Jake & (Margaret) Fowler, (Alex) & Holly Ryder, and Breanna Fowler; and a cherished great-grandfather of eleven; brother of Jerry (Janet) Bailey and Eddie Parker; uncle, cousin, and friend to many. Visitation will be held on Friday, June 25, 2021 from 12:00 Noon to 2:00 PM, with a funeral service taking place at 2:00 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Burial will follow at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Edward’s honor to Nourish NC and/or Vigilant Hope in Wilmington.
