Edward Short's Obituary
Edward Short, 83, of Cleveland, passed away December 15, 2017.
Edward was the beloved husband of 58 years to Leona (nee Howard); loving father of Tammy (John) Cocchiarale, Bridget (Todd) Reitz, Mark (Nicole Martin), Carl (Deanne), and Julie Jarrell (Hector Vega); cherished grandfather of Austin and Max Cocchiarale, Rick Schultz, Brent and Alexa Reitz, Kevin and Ryan Short, Maranda Kuznik, Karrah, Braden, Hannah and Kendall Jarrell and Davien Vega and great-grandfather of Bryhson, Joseph, Carter and Liam; dear brother of Carol (Walter) Young, Shirley Miller and Arlan (Betty) Simpkins; caring brother-in-law and uncle of many. US Army veteran. He retired from Roadway Express and remained active until the age of 75 with the Huff-N-Puffers softball league at James Day Park in Parma where he was known as “Fast Eddie”. Edward was an all-around athlete enjoying many sports including bowling and basketball. He cherished his family and will be remembered for his love and care as a husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Visitation Monday, December 18, 2017 from 4PM-8PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence on Tuesday at 10AM.
