Elaine F. Johnson-Schmidt's Obituary
Elaine Johnson‑Schmidt, 82, of Brooklyn, Ohio, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her daughters on May 21, 2026. Born in Cleveland, Ohio, on August 23, 1943, she was the daughter of the late Abraham and Frances Shoff.
Elaine was preceded in death by her first husband, Steve Johnson, and her second husband, Russell Schmidt.
She is survived by her children Bonnie, Cheryl, and Chris; her four grandchildren; and her four great‑grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
A devoted and caring mother, Elaine poured her heart into raising her children and supporting her family. She found great happiness in gardening—especially tending to her flowers—and in sewing, a craft she approached with the same patience and creativity that defined her life.
Elaine will be remembered for her warmth, her gentle spirit, and the deep love she shared with her family.
A visitation will be held on Thursday May 28, 2026 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
Elaine will be laid to rest privately.
