Elfrieda Patton's Obituary
Elfrieda (Elfie) Patton, 92, of North Olmsted, formerly of Fairview Park, Ohio, passed away peacefully October 15, 2017. Born July 22, 1925, she is predeceased by her parents Henry and Marie (Strumpel) Soeffker, her sister Sophie Soeffker Albrecht, her husband William Patton, and her nephew David Herzberger.
Elfie had an outgoing personality and loved people. She was a graduate of North Central College and remained an active alumni and supporter of North Central. Elfie began her career as a secretary with the FBI, and being fluent in German, she spent many years working for the organization in Germany. She met her husband William Patton while working for the FBI, and became a homemaker after her marriage. Elfie remained involved in many FBI associations and attended many functions.
Elfie was an active member of Parma-South Presbyterian Church and served as both a Deacon and an Elder. Elfie served on the committees of Stewardship, Building and Finance, Ushering and Nominating.
Elfie is survived by her nephew Gregory Herzberger, nieces Julie (Michael) Herzberger Duncan, Deborah Herzberger Somerville, and several grand nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held 1 pm, Oct 27 at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. In lieu of lowers, donations may be made to the David Herzberger Endowment Fund at Ohio Guidestones, 434 Eastland Road, Berea.
