Elizabeth "Betty" A. Rogge's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” A. Rogge, 93, of Avon Lake, passed away on February 25, 2019.
Beloved mother of Charles (Lori) Rogge, James (Rita) Rogge and David (Kimberly) Rogge; loving grandmother of Kara (Joseph) Leik, Leah (Benjamin) Kann, Kelly (Benjamin) Bailey, Michael (Jessica) Rogge and Sarah (Nicholas deceased) Cramer; great grandmother of Karalyn, Samuel, Gabriel, Vivian, Jocelyn, Lucy, Ezekiel, James, George, Evelyn, Emmalyn, Grace, Nora, twins Jackson and Tyler, and one on the way; and her loving extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Richard; parents Joseph and Irene (Ten Hoopen) Watkins; and her great grandchild Elijah.
Betty graduated from Lakewood High School in 1944, and then proceeded to Kent State University to study bookkeeping. Her first job after her education was at American Ship Building. Betty also worked at The Calvert Company, before volunteering at the Good Neighbor Thrift Shop in Avon Lake where she retired as a store manager. She was a strong, independent and meticulous lady. Betty kept detailed records on her children’s growth, finances and doctors’ visits, among other things. She enjoyed her weekly bridge game with friends, jigsaw and crossword puzzles. Betty also liked to watch and follow her Cleveland sports teams. She was a member of Bay United Methodist Church and the Order of Eastern Stars, Day Chapter in Lorain. Betty cherished spending time with her beloved family and friends.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 2, 2019 from 12-2 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, where her funeral service will be held at 2 PM. A graveside service will immediately follow at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted, OH 44070.
