Elizabeth "Betty" Ann Stocz's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Ann Stocz, age 93, of Olmsted Twp., passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 27, 2020.
She was born on April 30, 1927 in Phalanx, OH, daughter of the late Vendel and Mary (nee Magyar) Stocz. Betty enjoyed gardening, sewing, completing puzzles, and playing scrabble with her sisters. Betty coauthored a cookbook with her family and loved making quilts. Her family was the most important thing to her and she will be greatly missed.
Devoted wife of the late Joseph Stocz, cherished mother of Joseph (the late Mary) Stocz and Kathleen (Norm) von Stempa; beloved grandmother of Jennifer (Paul) Stocz, Karen (Will) Oemler, and Molly (Todd) Fritz; loving great grandmother of Ellis and Althea Fritz and June Oemler; treasured sister of Mary (the late John) Jakubik, and Veronica (the late Norm) Hach; beloved aunt, great aunt, sister-in-law, and friend of many.
Elizabeth was preceded in death by her siblings, Rose (Mike) Stack, Helen (Joseph) Mezinger, Joseph Stocz, and William (Denise, surviving) Stocz.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 from 4PM – 8PM in the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, 44070. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Wednesday, October 7, at 10AM, at St. Mary of the Falls Church, 25615 Bagley Rd., Olmsted Falls, 44138. Please meet at church. Interment immediately following in Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Elizabeth’s name are suggested to the Southwest Residential Hospice, 18659 Drake Rd., Strongsville, OH 44136.
