Elizabeth M. Blakemore's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Blakemore (nee Prokay) 85 of Cleveland, OH passed away February 17, 2025. Beloved wife of 66 years to Jack M Blakemore, Loving mother of Dennis (Margaret), Vickie (Timothy) Gilliam, Lisa Erb, Laurie (Jimmy) Skeens, Karen (John) Pathko, and Kimberly. Cherished Grandmother of 11; Treasured great-grandmother of 5. Born on December 6, 1939 in Punxsutawney, PA to the late Steve and Gladys (nee Vaughn). Sister of the Late Steve (Emma Jean), Dorothy Palm, Doris (Richard) Armstrong, Richard, Emery (Marilyn). Also survived by Sister-in-Law Margaret Prokay and many nieces and nephews.
Betty enjoyed spending time at her camper with her family at Holiday Camplands, she loved listening and dancing to polka music. If she was not dancing to her polkas, she was cooking and baking for family parties. Her stuffed cabbages were a family favorite. Betty was involved in PTA, scouts and loved to craft. She has a passion for ceramics where she would create works of art with her in home kiln.
A Celebration of Life will be on Saturday, March 1, 2025, Family will receive friends 11 AM to 12PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH where memorial services will commence on Saturday at 12PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elizabeth’s memory to the Alzheimer’s Association Cleveland Area Chapter 3 Summit Park Dr #550 Independence, OH 44131
