Elizabeth "Betsy" Hartranft's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betsy” (Mild) Hartranft, 81, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Born in Sharon, Pennsylvania on October 2, 1942, Betsy graduated as valedictorian of her Sharon High School class. Betsy went on to attend Ohio Northern University, where she studied pharmacy and was a member of Delta Zeta sorority. She had a lengthy, accomplished career as a pharmacist, residing in Bay Village, Ohio for nearly 50 years.
A wonderful mother and friend, Betsy always exhibited kindness, intelligence and her trademark dry sense of humor. A trivia whiz, Betsy frequently answered questions that stumped even the best contestants on the game show Jeopardy! In addition, Betsy enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Adelaide Mild. Betsy is survived by her son Bill (Melissa Davis) of Newton, Massachusetts; her sister Pat Hilker (Harold) of Morro Bay, California; and her granddaughter Morgan of Newton, Massachusetts.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, February 2, 2024 at Bay Presbyterian Church, 25415 Lake Road, Bay Village, Ohio 44140. That will be followed by a family committal service at 11:30 a.m. at Sunset Cemetery, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Bay Presbyterian Church.
