Elizabeth "Betty" Penney's Obituary
Elizabeth “Betty” Penney, age 101, passed away on December 2, 2025. Devoted wife for 55 years to the late Dwight L. Penney; Beloved mother of Tim (deceased) (Margie) Penney, Laura Greff, Janet (Fred, deceased) Littlefield; Cherished grandmother of James (deceased), Ryan, Meryl, Tim, Leah, Adam and Grace; Great-grandmother of Maci, Charlotte, and Claire; Sister of Ivan Mahaydik (deceased) and Emily Santner (deceased) and loving aunt.
Betty was known for her kind, generous and gentle spirit, her talent as an artist in many mediums, and her elegant fashion sense. She had a great sense of humor and loved to laugh.
Her hobbies were gardening, decorating, shopping, flower arranging and setting a beautiful table for her gatherings. In her earlier years, she enjoyed golfing, horseback riding, tennis, and ice skating. Betty loved to get out into the sunshine and enjoy nature and had a lifelong love of cats, especially her favorite cat Minnie.
Along with her husband, Betty enjoyed refurbishing and decorating their retirement cottage where many joyful memories were made with family and friends.
Memorial visitation is Saturday, December 13, 2025, from 12:00-2:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, where the memorial service will follow at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Scranton Road Bible Church at https://scrantonroad.org/online-giving
Interment at Sunset Memorial Park at a later date.
