Elizabeth "Betty" Taylor's Obituary
Taylor, Betty (Elizabeth Wilson Ferguson Ferrier) passed peacefully July 7, 2016 at home.
Born January 18, 1921 in Cleveland to James and Helen Ferrier (deceased); loving and devoted wife for 64 years of the late Victor C.; sister of Janette (Charles) Marek (deceased); loving mother of Barbara Taylor, Nancy (David) Popovich, Bruce and Brian; beloved grandmother of Kristen (John) Minichello, Jennifer Buck and Maggie Popovich; loving great grandmother of Dominic and Elizabeth Minichello.
Betty served in the U.S. Army Women’s Army Corp at the Pentagon during WWII, after which she married her high school sweetheart, Vic, in 1947. She touched many lives through Girl Scouts as a leader, day camp director and fundraiser (1968-74). She was an avid tole/decorative painter and shared her talents with many in Fiesta Key, FL and more recently at the Fairview Senior Center.
The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 10, 2016, from 2 – 3 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070, followed by a memorial service at 3 PM. Family recommends donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve, Fairview Senior Center or to Lake Erie Girl Scout Council.
