Ellen Taylor's Obituary
⁷Ellen Taylor, age 91, of Olmsted Township, Ohio, passed away peacefully on January 14, 2026. Born in Cleveland on April 19, 1934, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Kane and Emily (nee. Kofron) Kane.
Ellen was the beloved wife of the late Hugh F. Taylor Sr., with whom she shared a lifetime of love, laughter, and adventure. Together, they built a family rooted in devotion, joy, and unwavering support.
She leaves behind her cherished children: Christine (Charles) Naso, William (Susan) Taylor, Patricia (David—deceased) Zeleny, Nancy (Glen) McGraw, Karen Fiala (Doug Ford), Linda Hansen, and Hugh F. (Theresa) Taylor Jr. Ellen was the proud grandmother of 23 grandchildren and the adoring great‑grandmother of 36 great‑grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable pride and happiness.
Ellen was the loving sister of the late Geraldine (Chester—deceased) Suchocki, the late Doris (Leo—deceased) Kelly, the late Marian (Joe Pranckunas—deceased), Rosemary (Richard—deceased) Brown, the late James (Sue) Green, and the late Theresa Green. Her family ties were deep, and she carried her siblings’ memories close to her heart.
A woman of boundless energy and joy, Ellen found delight in life’s simple pleasures. She loved playing the piano, going out to dinner, cooking and baking for those she loved, bowling with friends, and spending time boating. Some of her happiest days were spent at her trailer in Marblehead with her husband, where the two of them created countless memories. Ellen never passed up a chance to dance—whether at a celebration or simply in the kitchen—her spirit was always ready to move.
Her faith and generosity were central to her life. Ellen was a dedicated volunteer at St. Mary of the Falls Parish in Olmsted Falls, where she offered her time, compassion, and steady presence to her parish community.
To honor Ellen's devotion to her Catholic faith, gifts to the Mercedarian Sisters of the Blessed Sacrament novitiate building fund would be a meaningful alternative to flowers.
