Ellis "Tom" Thompson's Obituary
Ellis R. “Tom” Thompson, 70, passed away on August 23, 2023. He was born October 25, 1952, in Cleveland to the late Ellis and Virginia (nee Sandy) Thompson.
Tom spent most of his life working in freight hauling and was a proud member of Teamsters # 507. More recently, he enjoyed his second career as a custodian at a Charter School in Cleveland. He also worked at Gross Schechter Day School in Fairmont and loved being around children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Pat Reynolds.
He leaves behind a loving family to cherish his memory, including his loving wife of 19 years, Anna Dezso; children, Shawnee Thompson, Scott Thompson, Tommy Thompson, Michael Thompson, Catherine (Chris) Tryon, and Cynthia (Scott) Smith; grandchildren, Alex Tryon, Maggie Thompson and Joey Thompson; sister, April Burnett; special nephew, P.J. (Lisa) Reynolds; and many other extended family members and friends.
Family and Friends may gather for a Visitation time on Tuesday, August 29, 2023, from 4:00PM to 8:00PM at Sunset Chapel (6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070). A Funeral Service will begin at 10:00AM on Wednesday, August 30, 2023, also at Sunset Chapel. His final resting place will be Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio.
