Elly Luise Rach's Obituary
Elly Luise Rach, 91, of Avon Lake, Ohio peacefully passed away on January 26, 2022. She was born on October 4, 1930 in Reutlingen, Germany to the late Gottlob and Pauline (nee Nothacker) Heusel. Elly will be fondly remembered for the love she had for her family. She spent many years cultivating her home into a place of happiness. Elly found great joy filling her home with the wonderful aroma of German style homecooked meals and her famous German layer cakes. She traveled many places with her husband Jakob. Their travels included Thailand, Japan, but her favorite place to visit was Germany. Her crochet blankets will continue to bring smiles and warmth to family and friends for many years and will be fondly remembered as the “best mom ever”. She was a dear friend to many and will be deeply missed by those who loved her best. Elly is reunited with her husband Jakob Rach. Loving Mama of Michael (Melissa) Rach and Tina Rach (George Hudnutt); cherished Omi of Wolfgang Rach, Lucky Grenke, Adam Grenke, and Molly Jeffries; dear sister of Luise Staiger; aunt of Melanie (Ulli) Goebel and Helmut Staiger; great-aunt of Sara and Florian Goebel. Elly is preceded in death by her brother-in-law Eugen Staiger. Friends and family may call on Sunday, January 30, 2022 from 11:00 AM-12 Noon at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Services will immediately follow at 12 Noon at the chapel. Elly will be privately laid to rest at Sunset Memorial Park in North Olmsted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Elly’s memory to Parkinson's Foundation, 200 SE 1st Street, Suite 800, Miami, FL 33131.
