Elwin Daniel Mesmer's Obituary
Elwin Daniel Mesmer aka “Shorty”, 93, of Medina, Ohio passed away peacefully on March 21, 2023. He was born on February 25, 1930, in Southington, Ohio to the late Grant Daniel and Letha Mesmer (nee Lynn). Elwin was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Natalie Mesmer aka “Sally” (nee Poltorak), and his brother, Irvin Charles Mesmer. Elwin will be deeply missed by his children, Scott Daniel (Brenda) Mesmer and Susan Mesmer (Richard) Rice; loving Grandpa Shorty of Jeffrey Daniel (Melanie) Mesmer, Marie Elizabeth Mesmer (fiancé, Logan), and Victoria Mesmer (Andrew) Brooks; cherished great-grandpa of Mariana Whitney Mesmer; dear brother-in-law of Dorothy Dixon (nee Poltorak); dear uncle of many nieces and nephews; and a host of extended family and dear friends. The family is forever grateful for his incredible loving care, provided by Brookdale Camelot Medina and Miracle City Hospice. Shorty was a US Air Force veteran, a 45 year General Motors employee and a life long blood donor. He loved traveling, riding his Gold Wing motorcycle and listening to Big Band Music.
The visitation and funeral ceremony will be held on Monday, March 27, 2023, with visiting hours from 12-2pm followed by a 2pm service at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070
