Eric Anthony Tipp's Obituary
Eric Anthony Tipp, 86, passed away peacefully on January 29, 2021.
Born in Detroit, Michigan, he enjoyed sailing on Lake Michigan in his younger years and graduated from University of Michigan with a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
Eric met the love of his life, Nancy Elaine Scanlon, at a college mixer. It was love at first sight. Beloved husband of Nancy, they were married for over 60 years.
Dear father of Kathleen Wood (the late Dr. Walter Wood), Susan Simonetti (Michael), Steven (Kristene) Tipp, and Julie Balazic.
Cherished grandfather of Lauren Stuart, Erica Bright, and Walter Wood, Joe, Halle and Rachel Simonetti, Graem and Natalie Tipp, Eliza, Riley, and Ethan Balazic.
Loving brother of John Tipp (Kathy) and family.
Devoted brother-in-law to the late Dr. Terry Scanlon and wife Patty, nieces and nephew, Kelly, Sheryl and the late Brett Scanlon.
Eric will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving man, and will be missed by his family and friends. He was a fan of his Cleveland sports teams, and loyal to his Michigan Wolverines. Spending time with his family and grandchildren was one of his greatest joys.
Visitation is 8:15 a.m. – 9:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 3, 2021, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m. at the Church of St. Clarence, 30106 Lorain Rd., North Olmsted. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
