Erika Hatfield's Obituary
Erika (nee Rybczynski) Hatfield, 79, was welcomed into the arms of her Lord and Savior on September 14, 2021.
Erika was born December 20, 1941 in Salzgitter Lebenstedt, Germany to Waldemar and Lydia Rybczynski. She migrated to America with her family in 1957 and built an incredible life filled with precious memories. She most importantly, served her Savior by raising her children in the Christian faith.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Kermit Hatfield.
She is survived by her sister Liane Grolle (Carl), two brothers Waldemar Rybczynski (Nancy) and Fred Rybczynski (Karen). She is also survived by her two children Simona (Russell) Moore and Kenneth (Cynthia) Schauer; her five grandchildren Rachel (Joseph) Springer, Jordan (Amy) Moore, Jedd (Katherine) Moore, Vincent Piazza and Ciana Piazza and four great children Micah, Charlotte, Leah and Elias. She was loved and adored by her nieces, nephews and cousins.
Erika retired from Cuyahoga County Data Center in Cleveland, Ohio. She was a family focused woman who enjoyed spending her time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and family. She was known for making apple butter, singing old hymns while holding her great grandchildren, attending every family event, and for loving those she cared about fiercely. She was an avid crocheter and made many blankets for various hospital nursery facilities and had volunteered at Parma Hospital. Her green thumb was evident all around her home.
