Erika Ilona Szanto's Obituary
Erika Ilona Szanto, age 82, passed away on June 2, 2026. Born on April 25, 1944, she was the beloved daughter of the late Maria and Istvan Kovacs.
Erika was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose life was rooted in love, family, and deep faith. She was preceded in death by her cherished husband, Sandor Szanto, with whom she shared many years of partnership and devotion. She leaves behind a loving family who will carry her memory in their hearts: her children, Sandor J. Szanto, Erika K. Szanto, and Peter Z. Szanto; her stepdaughter, Elizabeth (David, deceased) Maddock; her grandchildren, Nicholas A. Szanto, Nathan A. Szanto, and Gabriella K. Bouman; her step-grandson, Logan Maddock; and her great-grandson, Christopher J. Baughman.
Erika will be remembered for her warmth, resilience, and the deep care she showed to those closest to her. Her legacy lives on through the generations she nurtured and loved so dearly.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
Visitation is Friday, June 12, 2026, from 4:00 – 6:00 PM at Sunset Memorial Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, where the funeral service will follow at 6:00 PM
Graveside service is Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at 10 AM at Sunset Memorial Park, 6265 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, OH 44070, where friends and family will gather at the gate at 9:45 AM to line up in procession.
