Eugene D. Nettgen's Obituary
Eugene D. Nettgen, age 81, of North Royalton, Ohio; beloved husband of Donna M. Nettgen for 58 years; loving father of Robert E. "Rob" Nettgen (Stephanie), and William E. "Bill" Nettgen (Nancy); dear grandfather of Maria Nettgen; brother of the following deceased siblings: Henry J. Nettgen, III (Marie, deceased), Richard E. Nettgen, Dorothy "Dolly" Drensky (Raymond, deceased), Elmer Nettgen (Veronica, deceased), Mary Alice Bozak (Edward, deceased), and Arthur V. Nettgen (Margaret, deceased); treasured uncle of many nieces and nephews. Gene was born and raised in Cleveland, Ohio and attended St. Edward and Lincoln High Schools before serving in the U.S. Army's 326th Engineer Battalion Airborne Division as a Paratrooper from May 1958 to February 1960. He enjoyed a long career as an Iron Worker and Electrician, and was a Fifty-Year Member of The International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Gene enjoyed woodworking, gardening and Judo, and will be remembered for his strong work ethic, and for his devotion to his family, for whom he was so proud. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. The family will receive friends at the Busch Funeral Home, Parma, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, December 5th. Funeral service at the funeral home on Friday, December 6th at 10:00 AM. Interment with U.S. Army honors at SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK, North Olmsted on Friday, December 6th at 11:15 AM.
