Eugene E. Proud's Obituary
Eugene E. Proud, 81, passed away August 31, 2019. Loving partner of 9 years to Jean McGlocklin, husband of the late Ninamae; beloved father of Darla (Phillip) Eberwein; cherished grandpa of Heather Stout (Brandon Nebeker), Emilie (Derek) Papp, Gretchen Stout (Liam Hoban) and Brandon Eberwein; devoted great-grandpa of Aurelia, Walden, Derek, Doyle, Dylan and Baby Hoban; dear brother of the late James and Boyce.
Eugene loved his family and spending as much time with them as he could. His daughter said he spoiled everyone, even his friends became his family. He loved to travel and explore new places. His daughter shared that when she was little they would go on trips once a year, and starting out her dad would go to the end of the driveway and ask “do you want to go right or left?” and this is how we ended up in the greatest places and saw the country. Jean confirmed that even when they went on their bike trips, he would start out the same way. Eugene loved motorcycles and at one point had 13. He enjoyed being the number one groupie for his daughter and son-in-law’s band. He was a proud 32° Mason, member of the Cleveland Lodge 781 and the John W Barkley Lodge 621. He was a member of the Al Koran Shriners and was proud to be a transporter for the children and their families. Eugene was a free spirit and will be so missed by so many.
Family will receive guests Thursday, September 5th, 2019, 4-8 PM, Masonic Service will be 7:30 PM and Celebration of Life Service will be Friday 12 Noon all at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd. North Olmsted. Burial with Military Honors to follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
