Evelyn Scibbe's Obituary
Evelyn Scibbe (nee-Golke), 88, of Strongsville passed away Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Southwest General Hospital in Middleburg Heights following a long illness. She was born February 5, 1929 in Cleveland and was a Strongsville resident for most of her life. Evelyn was employed as a secretary at the Kennedy Mint Company in Strongsville, was a very active member of the First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Strongsville, played flute in the Symphony West Orchestra and was a talented artist. Survivors include her daughter, Kristen (Mark) Swihart; sons, Richard (Alice) Scibbe and Mark (Michelle Kay) Scibbe; 14 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother, Rev. Fred Golke. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond in 1992 and sisters, Ruth Williams and Elaine Walters. A Memorial Service will be 4:00 p.m. Monday, April 10, 2017 at the First Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19419 Royalton Rd., Strongsville, where the family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. until the time of services. Private burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Laubenthal-Mercado Funeral Home and Cremation Specialists, 38475 Chestnut Ridge Rd., Elyria.
