Munday, who predeceased her on December 29, 1988; loving mother of Mary Cashman, Roberta Munday and Daniel (Amy) Munday; cherished grandmother of Charlene Urbanski, Rhonda Roberts, Judith (Mark) Gillhouse, Jonathan Segoviano (deceased), Christopher Munday, Michaela Rose Munday and India Rose Munday; great-grandmother of Brittany and Brianna Urbanski, Krista (John) Gregory, Kara (Catherine) Booth, Megan (John) Dilworth, Cody Munday (deceased) and Chelsea, Gracie and Austin Munday; great-great-grandmother of John and Leah Gregory, and Alex, Andrew and Katelyn Booth; dear sister of Mary (Dan, deceased) Deranek, William (Jay) Vinci (deceased), Dorothy Vinci (deceased), Victor (Arlene, deceased) Vinci, Josephine (Bunzi, deceased) Pompignano, Angelo (Helen, deceased) Vinci, Charles Vinci (deceased), Raynard (Dee) Vinci (deceased), Betty Ann Williams and Marge (Jerry) Taylor; adored aunt of many.
Every life has a story. Felicia’s life began in Cleveland with her 5 brothers and 5 sisters. She was the second oldest and frequently in charge of her younger siblings. Through adulthood, her brothers still thanked her for being such a good big sister.
At age 16, she married Robert, and soon started her family. They were original members of the Parkside Church of the Nazarene, and were pivotal in the groundbreaking of of the new Church on Hilliard Blvd. She remained a member for over 55 years, and taught Bible study for over 40 years. Her students often returned to visit, their own children in tow, to be taught by her also. She opened the doors daily at 6:00 am, and rarely missed.
Felicia was a true animal lover, and was known to bring home a stray puppy or two. She loved and enjoyed her cat, Penny.
Felicia had a green thumb and her vegetable gardens flourished. Summer nights were spent canning homegrown zucchini, beans, tomatoes for sauce, and grape juice. She was also a fabulous cook. Her ham, beans, and Italian sausage, presided at every holiday dinner.
Quality time was spent with her grandchildren. She introduced them to TV dinners, Mr Goodbars, the movie Homeward Bound, and old western movies, starring Gene Autry, the signing cowboy. She was an avid baseball fan-both for her son, Dan, and the Cleveland Indians. Jim Thome was her favorite and could be heard shouting, “Run, Thome, Run!” from her living room couch. She lived long enough to see him enter the Hall of Fame, and remarked, “Thome is my hero”.
After retiring at age 87, she enjoyed a pottery class and gave her creations as Christmas gifts. She was proud of her DaVinci heritage and passed her artistic genes along to her children and grandchildren.
Felicia persevered through life and always placed her trust in the Lord. She never complained, was always cheerful, and easy to laugh. Her favorite color was purple.
We will forever miss her smiling face, and will always remember her kindness, and gentle spirit.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 10, 2018 from 4PM-8PM at the Sunset Chapel in Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence on Saturday at 10AM. Interment to follow at Sunset Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Cleveland APL, 1729 Willey Avenue, Cleveland 44113.
