Francis Anthony Congelli's Obituary
Francis Anthony Congelli (aka Frank or Coots), age 98, of North Olmsted, Ohio, died on October 13, 2025. He was born on January 2, 1927 in Hornell, New York, to the late Nicholas and Beatrice (nee Matera) Congelli. Frank was the loving husband of the late Ruthana Mae (nee Willsey) Congelli.
Francis was a proud United States Army Air Corps veteran of WWII having served in occupied Germany. He worked for the Erie Lackawanna Railroad/Conrail in both his hometown of Hornell, New York and in Cleveland, Ohio.
Frank was an avid golfer and played a life-time of golf with family and friends well into his 80’s. In retirement, he was a self-taught pianist and shared his love of music with his grandchildren. Frank loved spending time with his family – his home open to all who visited.
Together, Francis and Ruthana had four children: Robert Joseph (Robin) Congelli – both deceased, Diane Marie (John - deceased) Kellicker, William Francis Congelli, and Steven John (Judith) Congelli.
Francis is survived by ten grandchildren, Nicholas Edward (Katie) Congelli, Lauren Mae (Erik LeDrew) Congelli, Cara Jayne Congelli, Michelle Lee (Brian) Lamb, Vivian Marie Kellicker, Maria Frances (Kyle) Schneider, John William Congelli, Katharine Christine Congelli, Steven Anthony Congelli, and Michael John Congelli; two great-grandchildren, Kayleigh Lamb and Lorenzo Congelli.
Francis was one of eleven children with two surviving sisters, Dolores (Robert – deceased) Kelley and Rosemary (Daniel) McCormick.
In keeping with his wishes, Frank will be cremated and laid to rest at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted, Ohio (Section 44, Lot 340, Space 1). Graveside service details will be updated once arranged.
