G. "Hugh" Walker's Obituary
Walker, G. Hugh, 83, of Bay Village, beloved husband of Carol (nee Mitchell), father of Diana (Denyse), Geoffrey, Alex (Marnie) and loving grandfather of Joseph. Brother of Robert, (Mary), Joan Smith and Dorothy Neil (Don) and uncle of many, he entered into rest on December 20th, 2014 after a brief illness.
Hugh was born in Buckingham, Quebec in 1931. He received his Bachelor of Engineering from Queen’s University (Canada) and his MBA from the University of Western Ontario. Hugh joined Dofasco (largest steelmaker in Canada) in 1959 and retired in 1994 as VP – Manufacturing.
He was a member of Bay United Methodist Church. He loved to spend time volunteering, playing bridge and working outside on his property. Many fun-filled summers were spent at the family cottage in Quebec.
A memorial service celebrating Hugh’s life will be held on Saturday, January 3, 2015, 2 PM at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, OH 44070 with Rev. Jonothan McCleery officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 PM – 2 PM prior to the memorial service at the Chapel. Memorial donations in Hugh’s name may be made to Bay United Methodist Church, 29931 Lake Road Bay Village, OH 44140 or to a charity of your choice.
