Hauled sand with gene for about 5 years. Took him a while to open up but once he did he would always wave and when his CB radio would work he would talk a little. You will be missed gene. He was a good man.

Our family is so saddened with the news about Gene’s passing. We all agreed he was truly a one of a kind beautiful person. So kind and compassionate. This has to be immensely hard for you and Katherine He will be missed.
If you feel the need to escape and be one with ocean you and Katherine are more than welcomed to spend a week here in Myrtle beach. The two of you could spend hours just walking and staring out at the ocean. Lisa chose to be in Hilton head this month to be alone and figure out what comes next after Jason passed away. Just a thought maybe it will help a little. We are here until 11/15. Thoughts and prayers are with you and Katherine! Sincerely. Bob and Beth
I would see Gene coming or going at Clague Towers or the parking lot & he’d stop to talk. We’d chat for some time, on our way in & in the elevator till I got off on t 4th floor. I called him the Parking Lot Philosopher! He was a good soul & had a very kind heart. He talked about his Family whom he cared for dearly. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him. So Sorry for Your Loss. Our Prayers go with You & Your Family. Sincerely, Belle Gerfen Unit #413 ph#440-665-9500. Please call me, if I may be of help.
Gene's life story has reached far, far away (that's the "power of social media"). From the other side of the planet, I would like to express my deepest condolences to Gene's friends and family for their loss. May you be consoled for your loss by the thought of what Gene found in life thanks to you: love, friendship, family, brothers. May you remember the wonderful person that I am sure he was.
