Mr. Geoffrey William Klag's Obituary
Geoffrey William Klag, 65, entered into the resurrection on October 4, 2024, after a battle with pancreatic cancer.
Geoffrey (Geoff) was born in Berea, Ohio, November 16, 1958, to Frederick William Klag and Mary Louise Klag. He was younger brother to Lt. Commander John Frederick Klag and older brother to Brian Thomas Klag.
Geoff graduated from Westlake High School where he played alto saxophone in the marching band and enjoyed painting. He painted as a hobby into his adult life. In November of 1980 he married Mary Louise Zylko, and the two had one child, Tiffany Irene Klag-Fulton. The couple divorced in 1983.
He worked as a mechanic and machinist in various suburbs of Cleveland and spent time working as a cook in several restaurants in the Cleveland area as well as some time in St. Augustine Florida. The hobbies that made him happiest were walks in the Cleveland Metro Parks where he took delight in the birds and ducks, and taking care of various pets he had throughout his adult life.
He moved to Kannapolis, NC in November of 2022 where he enjoyed living in a one-bedroom apartment, making friends from neighbors, having family dinners, going on shopping trips, and attending the sporting events of his granddaughters.
Geoff achieved local fame for the homemade spaghetti sauce he prepared for the All Saints’ Episcopal Church Youth Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser in November of 2022 and 2023.
He is survived by both of his parents, both of his brothers, his daughter and son-in-law, and 2 granddaughters.
