George J. Baker's Obituary
George J. Baker, 79, of Sheffield Village, peacefully passed away September 6, 2017 at Main Street Care Center, Avon Lake, with his family by his side.
He was born in Cleveland, the son of the late George J. and Marie Burden Baker. He attended Cleveland schools and enlisted in the Army in 1961. Following his honorable discharge, he went to work at his father’s business, Baker Motors in Lakewood, which he soon became owner of. George retired in 2007. He and Anna enjoyed golfing and antiquing together. He loved anything to do with cars and enjoyed tinkering in his garage. He most cherished the time he spent with his family.
George is survived by his beloved wife, Anna F. (nee Lowther), his granddaughter, Mallory (Ryan) Strong and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, his daughter Christine Baker, his brother John Baker (Evelyn) and his loyal companion, Stanley.
A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at 2PM in the Chapel at Sunset Memorial Park, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted. Graveside services with military honors will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
