George Dominic Koleno's Obituary
George Dominic Koleno, 89, of Olmsted Township, Ohio passed away on July 8, 2021. He was born on February 23, 1932 in Clarence, Pennsylvania to the late Thomas and Christina (nee Krenchik) Koleno. George endured the loss of his mother at a young age and left school in the 8th grade to work in the coal mines of Pennsylvania to help his family. He was a phenomenal baseball player and was drafted by the Brooklyn Dodgers, but instead of heading east he joined the US Army due to the Korean Conflict. He proudly served his country and received the Silver Star from the US and South Korea, along with other medals. Following his service in the 1950s, George moved to Ohio and began his career at General Motors (Parma Plant). After 37 years, he retired and enjoyed life with his loving family and friends. He will be missed his beloved wife Judy (nee Heverly) of 62 wonderful years; loving sons Timothy Koleno and George Koleno, Jr; cherished grandchildren Charlton Danielson, Chris Danielson, Jamesson Koleno, Brennen Koleno, Breeanna Koleno; treasured great-granddaughter Charlotte Danielson; and dear brother Andy (Leona) Koleno. He is preceded in death by his daughter Linda Danielson and siblings John, Pete, Steve, Tom, Frank, Agnes, Ann, Mary, Josephine, Christina, and Suzie. Friends and family may call on Friday, July 16, from 12-2 PM at Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070.
