George "Andy" Mettler's Obituary
It is with heartfelt prayers for Jan Mettler and her family that we share the passing of George “Andy” Mettler into the loving arms of our Lord and Savior on December 24, 2025.
Andy was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. Married to Janice for 60 years, his love for her was immeasurable—always reaching for her hand and treating her like a princess.
Andy’s gentle spirit and twinkle in his eyes touched everyone he met. He dearly loved his children and doted on his grandchildren.
He leaves behind his loving wife, Janice Mettler (nee Kuchar); children Mark (Jody Kiss) Mettler and Karen (Mark) Struhar; grandchildren John (Tori) Kiss, Lauren (Tyler) Rush, Joseph Struhar, Ryan Struhar, and Kaylee Struhar; his adored great-grandson, Henry Joseph Kiss and siblings Connie Mikuluk and Daryl Mettler.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Russell A. Mettler and Mary D. Elliott, and brother Wayne Mettler.
Andy will be deeply missed by all who knew him and his memory will forever hold a special place in our hearts.
AFTERGLOW
I’d like the memory of me to be a happy one.
I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when day is gone.
I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,
Of happy times & laughing times & bright & sunny days.
I’d like the tears of those who grieve to dry before the sun.
Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
Farewell for now our friend Andy. We will see you on the other side.
A private memorial service for George will be held later in the spring.
In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Olmsted Historical Society. https://www.frostvillemuseum.org/contact
