Georgene Brannon's Obituary
Georgene Brannon, age 91, of Medina, Ohio, passed away Sunday, June 6, 2021, surrounded by her family. She was born March 13, 1930, to Chester and Mildred Leasure in Crooksville, Ohio. She was a first and second grade teacher for 32 years, working at Pine Elementary School, as well as Butternut Elementary School, in North Olmsted, Ohio. Georgene was an avid reader, she played the piano and violin, and she loved to go camping. She served as the past President of the North Olmsted Teacher’s Union and was a lifetime member of the United Methodist Church. Above all, Georgene loved children and had a passion for teaching.
Left to celebrate Georgene’s life are her loving children, Amy Shipley (Sam), and twin sons, Judson (Linda), and Darin (Mary); her cherished grandchildren, Emily (Andrew), Benjamin, Adam (Megan), Abigail, Amanda (Michael), Annabelle, Dwayne (Mark), Matthew, and Gregory (Lexi); her adoring great grandchildren, Adalyn, Ethan, Fletcher, Lyla, Kayleigh, Eden, and Aliah. Georgene is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Thomas.
A Celebration of Life will take place at 10 AM on Saturday, June 12, 2021, at the Bennett’s Corners United Methodist Church, 47 W 130th St, Hinckley, OH 44233. Interment at SUNSET MEMORIAL PARK, North Olmsted on Saturday, June 12th at 11:45 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the North Olmsted Library, 27403 Lorain Rd, North Olmsted, OH 44070 or to Cleveland Clinic Hospice, 6801 Brecksville Rd #10, Cleveland, OH 44131.
