Gerald B. O'Hara's Obituary
Gerald B. O’Hara, 84, of Westlake, passed away April 9, 2019.
Loving husband of 23 years to Dorothy (Kilian); loving father of Gerald (deceased) and Michael O’Hara, Kathleen (Richard) Simon and Carol (John) Bostic; cherished grandfather of Annie, Kellie, Keith, Jaclyn, Jenna, Justin, Jeremy, Megan and Sean; great-grandfather of Zoie, Rico, Jada, Cloe, Shane, Tre, Starr and Tyler; great-great-grandfather of Dominic; dear brother of Patricia Baumberger (deceased); also survived by canine companions, Emmy and Elsie.
Gerald was retired from the U.S. Coast Guard as Chief Construction Engineer, Western Division. Upon his retirement after 30 years of service, he was awarded the Distinguished Medal of Service by Congress. Gerald was proud of his Irish heritage and of being from Cleveland. His grandchildren were the light of his life.
Visitation is 2-6 p.m., Sunday, April 14, 2019, at the Sunset Chapel, 6245 Columbia Rd., North Olmsted, where funeral services will commence at 10 a.m., Monday, April 15. Interment at Sunset Memorial Park, North Olmsted.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of the Western Reserve.
