Gerald Edward Ray's Obituary
Gerald Edward Ray, 85, of North Olmsted, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 14, 2022. He was born on November 12, 1936 in Erie, Pennsylvania. Beloved father of Bradley Ray (Denise) Brian Ray (Kim) Matthew Ray (Nandita) and Justin Ray. Cherished grandfather of Melissa Steadley (Jason) Jeffrey Ray, Zachary Ray, Lucy Ray, Samuel Ray and Maddox Ray; loving great-grandfather to Emma Steadley. Gerald will be truly missed by his lifelong companion Elmarine Hanratty; They enjoyed hikes in the MetroPark and going to the movies; loving brother to Patricia Helm (John), Jaqueline Crawford (Bill)(deceased) and host of extended family and friends. He is preceded in death by his cherished parents Walter and Margaret Ray (nee Malmberg) and his loving grand-daughter Taylor Ray. Gerald
was in the military as a 2nd Lieutenant from 1958-59. He had a wonderful calm demeanor, a dry sense of humor, an amazing laugh and loved his family. He was affectionately referred to by his children and grandchildren as Jer-Bear. Gerald will be laid to rest at Sunset Funeral Services
at 6245 Columbia Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070. Services will be private.
