Gertrude 'Trudy' B. Blasius' Obituary
Gertrude ‘Trudy’ Blasius (nee Bolte) passed away peacefully on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Born in Grafton to the late Fred and Sofie (nee Bauer) Bolte on December 20, 1930. Trudy is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Frank; children Karen Trzesniowski and Cynthia (Michael) O’Hara; granddaughter Kelly (Craig) Smith; great-granddaughters Reagan and Rylee; and her twin sister Elizabeth ‘Betty’ Calvey.
Trudy was a member of the Donauschwaben's German-American Cultural Center in Olmsted Falls. For many years, she and Frank loved dancing and travelling together and really strived to lead a full life together. Trudy loved taking care of her many plants and even to the last moments had made sure that they were pruned and watered. Trudy had a very strong bond with her twin Betty and they would accidentally send each other the same birthday and Christmas cards, sew the same clothing patterns but in different colors, and would even buy the same outfits. They truly were more than just sisters. Trudy will be dearly missed in the days to come.
